Keep Your Paradise Glow Facial Looking Fresh: Aftercare Tips
By Paradise of Beauty | November 5, 2026
Right after your Paradise Glow Facial, the biggest rule is simple: keep your skin calm. That means no exfoliants, no heavy makeup, no sweating, and no direct sun for the next 24 to 48 hours. I see the best “always leave glowy” results when you protect the barrier I just worked hard to build during your 90-minute appointment here in College Park.
The first 24 to 48 hours: protect the glow facial finish
Your skin is freshly cleaned, hydrated, and a little more “open” than usual after a deep cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, massage, and mask. In this window, less is more.
Quick rules I want you to follow
- Skip active ingredients: no retinol, strong acids, or harsh acne treatments.
- Skip heat: no hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, or long hot baths.
- Skip sweating: avoid vigorous workouts. College Park humidity plus sweat can irritate freshly treated skin fast.
- Skip heavy makeup: let pores stay clear, especially if you had extractions.
- Wear SPF: broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, even if it’s cloudy.
If you’re heading back to campus at the University of Maryland or commuting into DC the same day, plan to keep your face cool and clean. Try not to touch your skin on the Metro, in the car, or between classes. And please do not pick at anything. A little tenderness after extractions can be normal, but picking is how irritation turns into a longer recovery.
One more thing I’m serious about: sunscreen. People joke that I give “lectures” about it, but it’s because it protects your brightness, your texture, and the work you just paid for.
Days 3 to 7: keep pores clear and let texture smooth out
In the first week, the goal is to keep your skin comfortable while it settles into that hydrated, dewy look. A lot of my clients notice their pores look better and their skin feels softer in the days after, especially when they keep things gentle and consistent.
What I want you doing all week
- Cleanse with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser morning and night.
- Pat dry with a clean towel. No rubbing.
- Moisturize twice a day, especially if your skin tends to dehydrate (a lot of people don’t realize dehydration is the real issue).
- SPF every morning. Reapply if you’re outdoors for class, events, or errands in downtown College Park.
What to avoid until day 7
- Scrubs, cleansing brushes, and exfoliating tools.
- At-home peels, strong acids, retinol, and “tingly” products.
- Picking at flakes, congestion, or healing blemishes.
- Long sun exposure without reapplying SPF.
A simple routine that keeps your bb glow facial look (without extra time)
Most of my clients in College Park are busy. Students, faculty, DC commuters, parents. You don’t need a 10-step routine to keep that “refreshed” look. You need the right basics, used consistently.
My “keep it easy” lineup
- Cleanser: mild, fragrance-free, no gritty texture.
- Hydration step: lightweight hyaluronic acid serum if your skin feels tight or looks dull.
- Moisturizer: fragrance-free, barrier-friendly, not overly heavy.
- SPF: broad-spectrum every morning. Reapply when you’re out in the sun.
If you’re coming in from Hyattsville, Riverdale Park, Greenbelt, Beltsville, University Park, or Berwyn Heights, the same rule applies after your appointment: keep the ride home simple. No gym stop. No “just a quick Target run” that turns into an hour under bright lights and stress sweat.
And if you’ve got an evening event, schedule your facial so you have breathing room. I love when clients plan it between classes or before a night out because your skin already looks brighter and more hydrated without needing much makeup.

When to reach out after your glow facial (and when it’s normal)
A little pinkness, mild sensitivity, or “I can feel where the extractions were” is usually short-lived. What I don’t want you doing is pushing through something that feels off.
Please reach out for an in-office check if you notice unusual swelling, severe redness lasting beyond 48 hours, blistering, or persistent pain.
I’m big on education during your appointment, and I’m just as big on making sure you feel supported after. People tell me the difference they see is “night and day” and that their skin keeps glowing days later. Aftercare is a big reason that happens.
“I’ve been here a few times and I absolutely love it. Every treatment I’ve had has been super effective. Always leave glowy.”
