How the program works
Every Skin Recovery program begins with an in-depth skin assessment to identify dehydration, barrier disruption, and visible sensitivity. From there, your clinician builds a personalized treatment plan that draws from a range of professional techniques and technologies suited to your skin's current condition, aiming to restore hydration and reduce irritation while respecting your skin's tolerance.
Each session is customized to the day's condition and typically lasts 90 MINUTES; treatments are selected to strengthen the skin barrier, replenish moisture, and soothe reactivity. Results accumulate across visits, so the team discusses realistic expectations and a follow-up plan at your initial appointment rather than promising a single-session cure.
What to expect in-session
During a session you should expect a carefully paced experience: steps are chosen for your skin's needs and may include calming application, targeted hydration and non-invasive procedures. Sensations are usually mild — cooling, pressure, or brief warmth — and your clinician will adjust intensity to minimize discomfort and visible reaction.
Our College Park location is easy to reach from the UMD corridor and the Metro, which suits evening and weekend appointments for commuters and students. We plan session timing and post-care steps around your schedule so that follow-up visits and maintenance fit into busy academic, work, or event calendars.
Aftercare and maintaining results
Aftercare is tailored to how your skin responded that day. Clinicians provide specific guidance on moisturizing frequency, when to resume regular products, and signs to watch for if sensitivity persists. Clear, individualized instructions help protect the barrier and support the recovery process between appointments without introducing unnecessary complexity.
Local climate influences maintenance: College Park's humid summers and cooler, variable winters change hydration needs and barrier stress. Your follow-up schedule will reflect seasonality and lifestyle — for example more frequent check-ins after prolonged sun, heat, or changes in routines common to students and commuters.
